1.Information We Do NOT Collect

Unlike traditional gaming apps, Fact or Myth? does not track you across the web or assemble a demographic dossier. Specifically, we do not collect:

• Names, physical addresses, or phone numbers.
• Social security numbers or government identifiers.
• Location tracking, GPS coordinates, or IP geofencing.
• Advertising identifiers (IDFA, GAID) or cross-site tracking cookies.

2.Data Stored Locally on Your Device

To deliver an effortless, offline-ready gaming experience, the web application stores state locally within your browser's isolated localStorage container:

• Answered Card IDs: Used to run the “Never-Repeat” algorithm so you only see cards you haven't mastered yet.
• Cognitive Stats & Streaks: Your accuracy percentage, current day streak, best streak, and total cards conquered.
• Sound Preferences: Audio mute/unmute state.
• Patron Pass Token: If you support the creator, a local badge acknowledgment is kept in storage.

This data never leaves your device and is never synchronized to external servers.

3.AI Card Synthesizer & Gemini API Keys

If you utilize the optional AI Infinite Synthesizer to generate custom trivia cards, you can supply your personal Google Gemini API Key:

• Your API key is stored exclusively in your browser's local storage.
• Requests are dispatched directly from your browser to Google's generative AI API endpoints.
• We never log, proxy, intercept, or retain your API keys on our infrastructure.

4.Supporter Donations & Payments

When you choose to support the development of Fact or Myth? by fueling a deck (e.g. buying a coffee or matcha), payments are securely processed through industry-standard third-party platforms (such as Buy Me a Coffee or Stripe). Fact or Myth? never accesses, processes, or stores your credit card details or banking credentials.

5.Browser Notifications

The web app includes an optional daily streak reminder. This relies on the standard browser Notification API. We cannot send notifications unless you explicitly click “Allow” in your browser dialog. You can revoke this permission anytime via your browser settings.

6.Your Data Rights: Complete Erasure Anytime

Because all data is stored on your device, you have complete sovereignty. You can delete all your records at any moment by:

1. Opening the Cognitive Stats modal in the game header.
2. Clicking the red Reset All Memory & Stats button.
3. Alternatively, clearing site cookies and storage in your browser settings.

7.Children's Privacy (COPPA & GDPR Compliance)

Fact or Myth? is designed as a family-friendly educational trivia game. We do not knowingly solicit or collect personal information from children under 13 (or under 16 in the European Union). Since no personal data is collected or stored on servers, the platform provides a safe environment for learners of all ages.
